Alpha Bank Cyprus strengthens its Executive Committee
Alpha Bank Cyprus announces the strengthening of its Executive Committee, as part of the continued enhancement of its governance model and the implementation of its strategic plan. Under the new organisational structure, Ms. Penny Spiliotopoulou has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and joins the Bank’s Executive Committee. With her extensive experience in the financial services sector and in-depth knowledge of the Alpha Bank Group, she will further strengthen the finance function. At the same time, Ms. Charis Kynigou Landas, Chief Private Banking Officer and Member of the Executive Committee, plays a pivotal role in the further development of Private Wealth, the Bank’s specialised offering for high-net worth customers, as well as its international Private Banking activities. She will also supervise the Treasury business area.
The new structure strengthens the Bank’s ability to respond to market needs with agility, consistency, and expertise. It also supports the further enhancement of Customer experience, the development of innovative financial and investment solutions, and the effective implementation of Alpha Bank Cyprus’s strategic priorities.
Ms. Penny Spiliotopoulou has over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector in the United Kingdom and Greece. She holds a degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London. She commenced her career in 1995 at PwC in London and was subsequently employed in various financial institutions, initially providing audit and consulting services and later as a banking executive. She joined the Alpha Bank Group in Greece in 2013, holding senior managerial positions in different Units under the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) area. In January 2026, she transitioned to Alpha Bank Cyprus, initially serving as Advisor to the Chief Financial Officer. Since June 2026, she holds the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Ms. Charis Kynigou Landas has extensive experience in the areas of Private Banking, Treasury & Capital Markets, Wealth Management, and ESG. From February 2015 through October 2025, she served as Executive Member of the Board of AstroBank and Head of the Private Banking, Treasury & Capital Markets, and ESG Divisions. She played a key role in the transformation of Private Banking, the modernisation of Treasury & Capital Markets operations, the management of bond issuances, and the creation of the ESG Unit. Prior to joining AstroBank, she held senior positions at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Zurich, Piraeus Bank in Greece, Citibank International Plc, and Telerate Hellas SA. She also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Stock Exchange. She is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business and holds a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from Cardiff Business School, University of Wales. Following the completion of AstroBank’s acquisition in 2025, she was appointed Chief Private Banking Officer at Alpha Bank Cyprus, where she supervises Private Banking and Treasury.
