Miltiades Michaelas
Miltos is the Managing Director of Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd and an Executive Member of the Bank’s Board of Directors since June 2023. He graduated from Aston University (BSc Management and Computer Science) and also holds an MBA in Financial Studies from Nottingham University. He is a Chartered Director as awarded by the Institute of Directors (UK), and was also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He has served in a number of executive positions and in boards of directors with banks in different countries. He has held senior roles in Wholesale Banking and Financial Services from 1992 until 2001, when he became the General Manager of Laiki Bank (Australia) Ltd, (since renamed to Bank of Sydney). In 2006 he was assigned the role of General Manager of International and Financial Services at Laiki Bank in Cyprus. From 2013 to 2016 he served at Bank of Cyprus as the Director of International Operations. In 2016 he returned to Bank of Sydney in Australia and held the position of the CEO until his move to Alpha Bank.

Nicholas Mavrogenis
Born in 1969, he is a key player at Alpha Bank, contributing significantly to the success of the Organization. His educational background includes studying BΕng Electrical and Electronics Engineering and obtaining an MSc in Engineering and Physical Science in Medicine from Imperial College, University of London, showcasing a unique blend of technical knowledge and strategic insight. Joining Alpha Bank in 1994, he embarked on his professional journey as a dealer in the Treasury Division. His early responsibilities centered around managing the Bank's foreign exchange and interest rate risk, displaying a keen understanding of financial intricacies. In 2000, his capabilities were recognized when appointed by the Managing Director to set up Alpha Finance Ltd as a Manager. In this pivotal role, he demonstrated leadership and organizational skills by supervising all aspects of the company. Transitioning to the Cards Division in 2004, he not only served as a Supervisor but also played a key role in establishing a new unit responsible for assessing all retail credit applications. His career within the organization continued to progress as he moved through various roles, ultimately becoming the Manager of the Division. Since 2011, he has held the significant position of CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER and an executive member of the Board of Directors at Alpha Bank. In this capacity, he oversees critical operations Business Areas, including IT, Organization, Digital Banking, Data Management, Payments, the Call Centers, and Investment Products Operations. His role extends to formulating and implementing the business and IT strategy of the Bank, reflecting his comprehensive approach to contributing to Alpha Bank's continued success.
CHIEF WHOLESALE BANKING OFFICER (CWBO) – ExCo Member
Christoforos Stylianides
He was born in Nicosia in 1968. He graduated from the English School in 1987. Between 1987 and 1989 he served in the army. He holds a BSc (Econ) Accounting and Finance degree with First Class Honors from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD in France. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers in the UK. He started his professional career at KPMG in London where he participated in, and supervised, various audit and advisory engagements for corporate clients mainly in the manufacturing sector, between 1992 and 1995. In 1996 he joined Cyprialife, as financial controller and member of the top management team, which saw the newly established company become a market leader in life insurance in Cyprus. In 2000 he moved into banking. He held various positions at Bank of Cyprus (ex Laiki Bank) such as Manager Special Projects, Head of Credit Risk, Head of Corporate Center, Deputy Divisional Director International Operations, CEO of the subsidiary in Russia, Group Director Deleveraging and General Manager Business Banking. In 2013, he moved to RCB Bank, where he assumed the position of Head of Corporate and SΜE Lending. He led, the setting up and development of the Bank’s local lending portfolio, which was acquired in 2022 by Hellenic Bank. At Hellenic Bank, he was appointed Head of Corporate a position he held until moving to Alpha Bank to assume the role of General Manager Wholesale Banking.

Charis Kynigou Landas

Charis Kynigou Landas joined AstroBank (formerly Piraeus Bank Cyprus) in February 2015, where she served until the bank’s acquisition was completed in October 2025. During her tenure, she held the position of Executive Board Member and Head of the Private Banking, Treasury Capital Markets, and ESG Divisions. At AstroBank, she completely transformed the bank’s Private Banking division, creating a modern service model tailored to high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors. She also upgraded the Treasury & Capital Markets Division by introducing advanced financial risk management tools and real-time automated decision-making systems, strengthening the bank’s position in the bond, currency, and liquidity markets. She successfully managed all of the bank’s bond issuances. Additionally, she founded the ESG Unit, designing and implementing the bank’s green transition strategy. Prior to AstroBank, she was Head of the International Partnership Desk at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Zurich (2011–2015), serving high-net-worth clients from Greece and Cyprus. Before that, she held roles as Senior Relationship Manager and Head of International Book at Piraeus Bank Private Banking in Greece (2007–2011), Relationship Manager at Citibank International Plc (2006–2007), and Account Manager at Telerate Hellas SA (2002–2006), gaining valuable experience in international markets and investment data technology. Alongside her main professional career, from 2017 to 2024 she served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Stock Exchange, chairing the Provident Fund and contributing to the institutional advancement of the capital market. She holds a degree in Economic Science from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from Cardiff Business School, University of Wales. In 2025, she was appointed Chief Private Banking Officer at Alpha Bank and became a member of the Executive Committee. She is responsible for the strategic development of the Bank’s Private Wealth offering, the expansion of specialized services for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients, the enhancement of Alpha Bank’s international private banking activities as well as the supervision of the Treasury business area.

Giannis Tofarides

Born in 1980, he started his career with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, followed by the professional qualification ACA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). His professional journey began at Ernst & Young LLP, as an auditor. In 2007, he joined Cyprus Popular Bank in Group Financial Control, progressing to the role of Head of Capital. His experience extended to financial reporting and tax matters. In 2013, he took the role of Deputy Manager of Financial Services Division in Alpha Bank Cyprus where he was responsible for the reporting and accounting and control departments. Among other he took an active role in the project for the transition to the new definition of Non-performing Exposures, the merger with Emporiki Bank Cyprus and the transition to IFRS 9. In 2016, he took the role of Financial Services Division Manager. From his role, he became a member of Credit Risk Committee and ALCO. In 2023, he became Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Theophanis Loumbas
Born in 1971 in Cyprus, he pursued academic excellence by earning a scholarship to study BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Leicester, followed by a Master's degree in Communications Engineering from the University of Birmingham. He is also holder of the Diploma in Banking from the American Institute of Bankers, a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Information Systems Auditor, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, a Chartered Engineer and holder of several other certifications. His professional journey began at Logicom Public Ltd, where he started as Production Manager, contributing to the design of the company's first personal computer and the company’s computer production line. In 2003 he was promoted to the position of the Group Technical & IT Manager, overseeing Logicom’s multinational IT Infrastructure and securing of the Group’s network infrastructure. In 2008, he joined Alpha Bank Cyprus as an Information Systems Auditor, auditing the IT infrastructure and applications. He quickly progressed to the role of the Internal Audit Division Assistant Manager overseeing the audit engagements in central divisions of the Bank. In 2016 he moved to the Information Security & Personal Data Protection Division. During this time, he served as the Company Information Security Officer (CISO) and the Data Protection Officer (DPO), collaborating with various Bank units to implement information security and personal data protection principles. In 2021, Mr Loumbas took over the role of Manager in the Human Resources Division, and in 2023, he was appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer - heading the Human Resources, Legal Services and Governance & Sustainability Divisions. In 2025, Mr. Loumbas was appointed Chief of Corporate Center, assuming broader responsibilities across multiple strategic business areas reflecting the Bank’s commitment to transparency, customer-centricity, and sustainable growth. The Business Areas under his responsibilities include the Human Resources, Legal Services, Corporate Governance & Customer Advocacy, as well as the Marketing & Public Relations, Property Management and Sustainability & Product Management Business Areas.
CHIEF RETAIL BANKING OFFICER (CRBO) - ExCo Member
Popi Hadjioannou Demetriou

Mrs. Popi Hadjioannou Demetriou is an accomplished banking professional with over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector. She holds a BSc in Accounting and Economics with First Class Honours from the University of Southampton. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). Additionally, she holds the Advanced Level Certificate issued by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). Mrs. Hadjioannou Demetriou started her career in London where she qualified as an ACA. Upon returning to Cyprus in 1995, she joined Lombard NatWest (now Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd) where she quickly rose to senior positions, serving as Head Financial Control and Head of Treasury. She held the latter role until 2011, when she was appointed as Head of the Retail Banking Division. In this capacity, she successfully managed and coordinated the operations of the bank’s branch network, overseeing a team of over 200 employees. In 2017, she joined Eurobank Cyprus Ltd as Head of Affluent Banking, where she played a key role in the successful establishment of a new unit catering to Affluent clientele. In 2024 she was appointed Head of the CEO’s Office, providing executive-level strategic and operational support. Throughout her career, Mrs. Hadjioannou Demetriou has been an active member of numerous bank committees, contributing to strategic planning, governance and executive level decision making. In 2025, she was appointed Chief Retail Banking Officer of Alpha Bank Cyprus and became a Member of the Executive Committee. She is responsible for the Branch Network as well as the Business Areas of Retail Products and Customer Experience, and Retail Network Operations.
CHIEF INTERNATIONAL BANKING OFFICER (CIBO) – ExCo Member
George Charalambous
Born in 1972 he graduated from American Academy Larnaca in 1990 and holds a BSc (Hons) Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC), an approved Insolvency Practitioner member of the European Association of Turnaround Professionals (EACTP) and member of the International Compliance Association (ICA). He brings over two decades of leadership experience in corporate and international banking, with a strong track record in strategy, restructuring, and cross-border operations. His early career included advisory work at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), followed by a transition into Corporate banking with Cyprus Popular Bank. He went on to serve as Country Manager International Lending for Russia, Ukraine, and Estonia at Marfin Investment Group and as Director of Corporate Banking at Russian Industrial Bank, where he delivered major loan origination and restructuring programs and drove performance improvements. In 2010, he joined Hellenic Bank group, assuming key executive roles in both Moscow and Cyprus, including General Manager of LLC CB Hellenic Bank Russia, Head International Banking and Head of Arrears Management at Hellenic Bank Cyprus and Director of Corporate Recoveries at APS. In 2025, he was appointed Chief International Banking Officer at Alpha Bank and became a Member of the Executive Committee. He is responsible for the Bank’s international business strategy, cross-border development, and the growth of key international portfolios.

George Shiammoudis

Mr. George Shiammoudis has over 20 years of experience in the field of corporate finance, with a focus on the banking sector on matters related to risk management, regulatory compliance and governance. Having served in leadership positions at PwC and Alpha Bank, he has specialised in the areas of business strategy and planning, valuations and due diligences, supervisory and regulatory compliance, as well as in the formulation and monitoring of the risk management strategy of banking organisations, contributing decisively to the safeguarding of their operations and the strengthening of their corporate governance framework. He holds the professional title of Fellow Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), a degree in Economics from the University of Cyprus, and a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Warwick.
