As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and the sensitivity generally shown by the Alpha Bank Group towards mankind and children in particular, Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd promptly responded to the request made by the Child-Endocrinology Clinic at Makario Hospital's Pediatric Department, for the purchase of a laptop computer for the Clinic's needs.

Charity Beach Volleyball Marathon

Ever since 2004 the Cyprus Shipping Chamber has in alternate years organized an event titled “Shipping Day”. This event aims to give the Cypriot public the opportunity to learn more about Cyprus shipping and its contribution both to the Cyprus economy but also society in general. This year, the shipping event was in the form of a Charity Beach Volleyball Marathon which took place on Sunday October 7th 2012 at the courts beside the Cyprus Yachting Association in Limassol.

Several teams from company - members and associates of the CSC participated in the Charity Marathon Event and had the opportunity to compete in the dynamic but friendly “ knock out ” championship displaying their sporting spirit in the name of a good cause. The Bank participated with her own team comprising of members of staff.  

All the proceeds from the event were donated to the One Dream, One Wish Association which realizes the wishes of children suffering from cancer and related diseases.

Alpha Bank supports the Nicosia Music Festival

Alpha Bank supported the Music Festival which was organized by the Nicosia and greater Nicosia Area Municipalities as well as Larnaca Municipality on the occasion of World Music Dayon the 21 st of June.

he Music Festival took place from the 16 th to the 21 st of June 2012 in the central streets of Nicosia, as well as on McKenzie beach in Larnaca. At the Festival’s inauguration ceremony, on Saturday June 16 th, Nicosia Mayor Mr. Constantinos Yorkadjis together with the Mayors of the greater Nicosia area and the Mayor of Larnaca presented the Festival’s schedule of events. During these events professional and amateur musicians transformed the streets of Nicosia into an open music scene with the colorful melodies of Classical, Jazz, Greek pop, Rock, Latin, Big Band and Orchestral music.

Alpha Bank is the Gold Sponsor of the « 7 th Aegean Airlines Pro-Am » which will take place at the Aphrodite Hills Golf & Resort in Cyprus from the 30 th of May to the 2 nd of June 2012.

Alpha Bank is the Gold Sponsor of the « 7 th Aegean Airlines Pro-Am » International Golf Tournament which is taking place in Cyprus for the first time from the 30 th of May to the 2 nd of June 2012 on the grounds of the Aphrodite Hills Golf Course. It is an international tournament backed by the PGAs of Europe and the PGA of Greece as well as being supported by the Greek and Cypriot Golf Federation.

The « Aegean Airlines Pro-Am » is organized by Aegean Airlines for the 7 th year running. This prestigious international event has been established as one of the most important golfing events in Greece and abroad and is highly successful and widely recognized.

The “7 th Aegean Airlines Pro-Am” will take place on the Aphrodite Hills Golf & Resort’s 18 - holegolf course which has been built to international specifications by the famous architect Cabell Robinson. The tournament will host 48 teams , each comprised by one professional and three amateurs. The prize for the PGA Professionals is €64.000 while excellent prizes are also planned for the amateurs.

In its 6 previous years the tournament has been held in distinguished golf courses all over Greece like Hersonissos in Crete (2006-2008), Porto Carras in Chalkidiki (2009), while the last two tournaments have been organized at “T he Dunes Course ” in Costa Navarino in Messinia. Every year the tournament attracts players from all over the world (13 countries in 2008, 15 countries in 2007, 12 countries in 2008, 15 countries in 2009, 19 countries in 2012 and 16 countries in 2011).

Alpha Bank wholly supports this high level event as it believes that organizing such an important golf tournament places Cyprus on the map of the International sporting community and in particular the professional golfing community and contributes to displaying the high quality of the Cyprus Tourism Industry.

ALPHA BANK supports Strovolos Municipality events

As part of its corporate social responsibility Alpha Bank declares its interest in Humanity and Civilization by being an active participant in Cypriot cultural happenings and supporting events and activities which aim to promote Art and Culture . As part of these activities the Bank supported two significant events organized by Strovolos municipality at Strovolos Municipal Theatre.  

The first event , an Easter Concert of Byzantine Hymns and Cypriot songs titled “ Cyprus of the East – the common course of Cypriot and Byzantine music during the centuries” took place on April 4 th 2012. The Chorus of the Holy Metropolis of Tremithus, the Musical Department of the “Vasilitzia” Culture Group and the Choir of the School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Metropolis of Tremithus and students from the musical Lyceum in Nicosia all took part in the event.

The second event took place on the 7 th of May 2012 and consisted of a musical show called “Ela apopse stou Thoma” performed by the Folkdance Group with a rembetiko theme. The event which took place in packed room in Strovolos Municipal Theatre was philanthropic in nature and all the proceeds from ticket sales were offered to the purchase of foodstuffs for children in need in Greece.

Presentation of 500 DVDs to the Cyprus Union of Greek Teachers (POED)

As part of Alpha Bank Group’s constant concerns on issues of Corporate Social Responsibility, particularly in matters of History, Art and Culture in general, Alpha Bank Cyprus has sponsored the production of the documentary film “THE VENETIAN WALLS OF NICOSIA – Chandakas, Nicosia, Palmanova – A common ancestry”, in association with the Cinematography Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Education. The film is collaboration between the Cinematography Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Education and Anadysis Films Ltd, scripted and directed by Mrs Maro Theodosiadou with Mr Paschalis Papapetrou at Head of Production and Editing. The Documentary was first screened during an event organized by Alpha Bank, with the assistance of the Research Unit of the Archaeology Department of the University of Cyprus, in a packed Events Hall at the University of Cyprus on the 1st of February 2011. In continuation of this gesture and wishing to contribute to the education of younger generations as much as possible, Alpha Bank Cyprus has decided to offer this remarkable production to all the elementary schools in Cyprus. In light of this, in an event that took part on Monday 12th March 2012 at Alpha Bank Head Office, and in association with Alpha Insurance, 500 DVD’s of the documentary “The Venetian Walls of NICOSIA – Chandakas, Nicosia, Palmanova – A common ancestry” were offered to the Cyprus Union of Greek Teachers (POED) who will distribute them to all junior schools in Cyprus .

Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd in the fight against breast cancer

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, on the 8th of March 2012, Alpha Bank offered its entire staff the well-known pink ribbon lapel pins, created by EUROPA DONNA as a message of hope against breast cancer. The Bank purchased the pins as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Policy sending a message of support and gratitude both to EUROPA DONNA and its staff. On the one hand, the Bank’s aim with this gesture was to thank women for their contribution to family, work and society in general, and remind them that caring for their health is of paramount importance, and on the other, to support and financially reinforce EUROPA DONNA for its difficult and important work against breast cancer in Cyprus.

Offer of Solidarity to Greece  

Alpha Bank Cyprus is particularly sensitive to the difficult moments that Greece is going though and for this purpose the Bank responded to a memo published by the Most Reverend Bishop of Kykkos and Tylliria Mr. Nikiforos and offered the Holy Bishopric of Kykkos and Tylliria the amount of €10.000 in dried foodstuffs for Greek recession sufferers. The foodstuffs were transported to Greece and delivered to ecclesiastical organizations together with other edibles and basic necessities which were collected for these purposes by other bodies associated to the Holy Bishopric of Kykkos and Tylliria and other Organisations. In Addition, Alpha Bank Cyprus wished to contribute even further, and in response to the call by many members of staff who wished to personally contribute to the effort, organized a voluntary collection by the employees. The amount collected from the staff’s voluntary donations was used to buy and send, again via the Holy Bishopric of Kykkos and Tylliria, more food and medication for the thousands of people in Greece that urgently need it.

Red Cross Fetes

The Red Cross Youth Department once again organised its customary Christmas fetes. This year the events took  place in Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos between the 11th and the 18th of December. On Sunday December 11th the Larnaca Youth Department organized  its Christmas fete on Ermou square in Larnaca. On Saturday December 17th the Famagusta and Kyrenia Youth Departments held their own fete at the Mall of Cyprus which also remained open on Sunday December 18th. The fete was under the patronage of the president of the Cypriot Red Cross Mrs. Photini Papadopoulou. On the same day the Kyrenia branch held its fete on Eleftherias Square in Nicosia. A Christmas fete will also was also on the 17th of December in the “Agora” in Paphos and was organized by the Paphos Red Cross Youth Department. Christmas ornaments, a variety of gifts and homemade sweets were available for sale at all the events and all proceeds went to the Red Cross for the aid of those in need. Alpha Bank has been the official sponsor of these events for a number of years.

“ Safe Road Travel” Publication

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, and an active member of the European Charter for Road Safety, the Bank part sponsored a publication titled “Safe Road Travel” which is intended for children and aims to help them stay safe on the road. The idea for the publication belongs to the Initiative Team on Road Safety which is comprised by victims of road accidents. The Initiative Group have signed The European Charter for Road Safety and collaborate with the Ministry of Communications and Works and the Ministry of Culture and Education. The Group and the Publication aimed to educate the young early on and sensitize them on matters of road conduct and safety. The Story book which was distributed to about 40.000 preschool and middle school students in both private and public elementary and secondary schools. The text for the story was written by educator Mrs. Elena Perikleous, Health and Safety Instruction Advisor to the Ministry of Education, and was specially put forward by said Ministry which has also seen to the distribution of the story to all schools

Alpha Bank Volunteer Day 2011

In line with the Corporate Social Responsibility policy of Alpha Bank and in order to cultivate and promote sensitivity on social and environmental issues to all Group Employees, the last Sunday of May has been established, since 2009, as “ALPHA BANK VOLUNTEER DAY”.On Sunday, May 29 th, 2011, Alpha Bank Cyprus organized an initiative of social sensitivity and action for those in need, by volunteering for the benefit of large families. In cooperation with the Cyprus Association of Friends of Large Families, small groups of Alpha Bank volunteers visited large families in need throughout Cyprus, and provided moral and material support by offering groceries and other necessities on behalf of all Alpha Bank staff. The staff ’ s involvement in the project was invaluable from the voluntary contribution of the groceries to putting together the teams that visited the families in need. Everyone’s active participation and the sensitivity with which similar actions were undertaken reflect the social responsibility applied in Alpha Bank Group and promote team effort and collaboration. On the same day, similar actions of a social and environmental context took place in Greece and all the other countries in which the Group operates, such as Romania, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, FYROM and Ukraine.

As part of the Alpha Bank Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and the sensitivity the Group displays in matters of history, art and culture in general, Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd has sponsored the production of the documentary film “The Venetian Walls of Nicosia. Chandakas, Nicosia, Palmanova. A shared ancestry”.

The film was a collaboration between the Cinematography Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Education and Anadysis Films Ltd. The scenario was written by Dr. Maro Theodossiadou who also directed the film, with Mr. Paschalis Papapetrou in Post Production and Editing.

Alpha Bank, in partnership with the Research Unit of the Archaeology Department of the University of Cyprus held the first screening of the documentary on Tuesday, February 1 st 2011, at the University of Cyprus in the Events Hall.

Red Cross Fetes

The Youth Department of the Cyprus Red Cross has once again organized the annual Christmas fete. This year for the first time, the festivities were organized on a larger scale as they were held in five different locations in all the towns of Cyprus on the same day.

On Sunday the 19 th of December 2010 two fetes were held in Nicosia , one at the Mall of Cyprus and another on Elefherias Square , while in Larnaca the Red Cross youth department had their fete on Ermou Square . The Limassol Red Cross youth department organized their fete at My Mall and in Paphos it was held on the Municipal Square. During all the fetes, Christmas decorations, a variety of gifts and homemade sweets and cakes were sold in a festive atmosphere.

Alpha Bank was once again the official sponsor of the fetes. During all the events, volunteers from the Bank gave out balloons and promotional gifts.

World Animal Day

In September 2009 Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd was the sponsor to a very innovative project entitled “Colour on the Square” during which Cypriot Graffiti artists decorated the metal panels covering the restoration area in Eleftherias Square in the centre of Nicosia. These panels remained in situ until the end of the first phase of the restoration.

Upon the completion of the first phase a year later, and in view of World Animal Day it was decided that the panels should be gifted to Argos Animal Sanctuary to be used as part of its fencing. The shelter is home to a large number of cats and dogs which have either been abused or abandoned and its aim is the care and welfare of these animals.

The Water Thief

As part of the Bank ’ s Social Responsibility Policy and as regards the Environment in particular Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd took part in the Cyprus CSR Media Initiative 2010 , a project which was the brainchild of the Commissioner for the Environment in association with Media Studios and the support of the CCCI .

The campaign was conducted though the transmission of short video clips on all television stations from the 6 th of September to the end October 2010 and aimed to enlighten the public on all sorts of environmental issues and problems. Alpha Bank was the sponsor of one of these clips entitled Ôhe Water Thief ” which dealt with the improper use of water.

Road Safety Talk

During July 2010 Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd following its obligations , to the Charter for Road Safety organized a Road Safety and Correct Road Conduct Seminar. In association with the Road Safety Section of the Nicosia Traffic Department the talk was given on the 27 th of July 2010 and was open to all staff with special invitations to those staff members who drive company cars or whose work requires regular driving.

Staff attendance was very high and the talk lasted about 45 minutes . The talk included safe driving tips, common mistakes made by Cypriot drivers, accident statistics and educational clips.

One other commitment Alpha Bank made towards the Charter was the publication and distribution of flyers on safe driving which were sent to all Alpha Bank customers through their monthly bank statements and which were also given to the staff.

Volunteer Day 2010

Ôhe Alpha Bank Group has once again organized “ALPHA BANK VOLUNTEER DAY”. On May 30th Alpha Bank Cyprus, which is particularly sensitive to the care and protection of the Environment, organized a Cyprus wide Volunteer Clean up of Public Parks in all districts. Members of staff and their families turned up en mass at all the meeting points where from 9:30 to 11:30 on Sunday morning hundreds of volunteers in every town set out to clean the following locations: Athalassa National Park in Nicosia, Rizoelia National Park in Larnaca, part of the Molos Promenade in Limassol and the Ahmed Rasid park in Paphos. On the same day similar social and environmental activities took place in Greece and the other countries where the Alpha Bank Group is established.

3rd Pancyprian Conference for Parents and Teachers

For the third year running, Alpha Bank was the sponsor of the Pancyprian Conference for Parents and Teachers which took place on the 29th of May 2010 at Latsia Municipal Theatre.

This year’s conference entitled “Educating Parents” featured Cypriot scientists talking about subjects which concern parents from the birth of their child to puberty. The attendees had the opportunity to ask questions about everyday parenting issues from general behaviour to doing homework.

Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd was present at the conference and the Bank’s team distributed informational leaflets and spoke to the visitors about its products and services. At the same time all visitors had the opportunity to benefit from Alpha Bank’s offer of a coupon which entitles the bearer to a €20 deposit upon its presentation at any Alpha Bank branch, when opening a new Alpha Minor Account.

31st Medical Conference of the Limassol Medical Association and 22nd Meeting of Cardiology Today

On the 20th - 21st March 2010 the 31st Medical Conference of the Limassol Medical Association took place at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel in Limassol and on the 27th - 28th of March the 22 nd Meeting ¨ Cardiology Today ¨ organized by the Cyprus Society of Cardiology was conducted at the Hilton Cyprus Hotel in Nicosia. Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd in association with Alpha Insurance was a sponsor of both these conferences where the Bank had a strong presence and provided informational flyers on several products to the attendees.

Live Link Energy 107.6 with Alpha Bank at The Mall of Cyprus

Alpha Bank and the youthful radio station Energy 107.6 organised an unusual live musical gathering at the Mall of Cyprus in Nicosia on Sunday the 27th of December 2009. The event lasted from 16:00 to 18:00 and was part of the Alpha Bank Winday-Wednesday Card Promotional Scheme.

The live-link was the conclusion of Alpha Bank’s and Energy 107.6’s special Christmas Competition through which one lucky listener won €2.000 in an Alpha Bank credit card to spend as they wished at the Mall of Cyprus! The lucky winner was revealed at a draw on Wednesday 16th of December 2009 during Energy’s live radio show. As part of the Live Link, the winner Ms Nicoleta Nicolaou was presented with her new card and had the opportunity to spend the €2.000 that Alpha Bank gave her at the Mall of Cyprus!

The event, which was visited by a large number of people, was very successful and took place in a pleasant Christmassy atmosphere!

Alpha Bank sponsors the Red Cross Christmas fete

The youth department of the Cyprus Red Cross once again organized the annual Christmas fete.

The fete took place last Sunday December 20 th 2009, at the Mall of Cyprus in Nicosia where Christmas decorations , a variety of gifts and cakes were sold to the public. A similar event which was organized by the Kyrenia branch of the Red Cross also took place on Eleftheria’s Square in Nicosia and in Paralimni.

Alpha Bank was once again the official sponsor of the event, a gesture which is made as part of Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy with the aim of focusing attention on the work of the Red Cross in Cyprus.

The 9 th Cypro-Greek Surgical Conference

The 9 th Cypro-Greek Surgical Conference took place from the 30 th of October to the 1 st of November 2009 at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia with Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd and Alpha Insurance as the main sponsors. The conference was organized by the Surgical Companies of Cyprus and Greece and many guest speakers from both countries and other European nations gave presentations and held discussions on surgical matters.

International Student Orientation Day

On October 30 th the University of Nicosia organized an International Student Orientation Day which was sponsored by Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd. The event which lasted from 10:00 am to 16:00pm included educating the students on Cyprus culture and History as well as a tour of the historic centre of Nicosia and the University Campus.

5th Real Estate and Property Conference

For the 5th consecutive year, Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd will be sponsoring The Real Estate and Property Conference. The conference was the largest gathering of professionals in the property field in Cyprus. Developers, contractors, researchers, construction companies, quantity surveyors, valuation experts and a host of other professionals gathered to discuss trends in the industry and highlight both problems and opportunities.

The Real Estate and Property Conference aimed to inform all involved parties of the most recent developments in current issues that affect both the global and local industry, but also to highlight and discuss important issues that concern the property sector, land development and construction in Cyprus. It bridged the gap between execution and administration as well as the legal and commercial aspects of the construction sector while analyzing new industry trends with distinguished and experienced speakers from Cyprus and abroad.

 

I DIRECT AND CREATE WITH -AND FOR- THE ENVIRONMENT

The environmental educational programme “ I direct and create with - and for - the environment” took place during the 2008-2009 school year on a Cyprus wide scale with the participation of 65 schools, ranging from Primary, High and Technical School students. Its aim was to raise the student s’ awareness by involving them in different art forms such as photography and filming.

The films and photographs created as part of the programme “ I direct and create with - and for - the environment ” were shown in the Melina Merkouri room at the Nicosia Municipality Cultural Centre from 21 st -27 th September 2009.

Colour on the Square

On Sunday September 13 th Nicosia residents had the opportunity to watch the painting of the metal panels covering the restoration area of Eleftheria square, by a group of Graffiti artists.

On the day, while the artists were working visitors also had the opportunity to take part in a faire, enjoy fresh food and drink, hear live music as well as a live link by Super FM radio station. There was also a skateboard display from Skate City store. As part of the Graffiti workshop young and old were also able to create their own designs with the help of the artists.

he main purpose of this event was to attract Nicosia residents to the town centre in order to experience the square reconstruction works close up and to enjoy the Graffiti process on the panels, which will remain in situ during the initial phase of the square’s renovation. It is also important to note that this event will bring people face to face with Graffiti, an alternative and often misunderstood form of art which has become an integral part of many cityscapes.

In its effort to educate staff on issues of corporate social responsibility, environmental matters etc the Alpha Bank Group has named May 23 rd “ALPHA BANK VOLUNTEER DAY”.

For 2009, the first year of this new institution, Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd organized a Cyprus wide Volunteer Beach Cleaning Initiative in every coastal district as well as the removal of litter from the Strovolos walk way in Nicosia.

The project’s aim was to enlighten and motivate people to take a more active role in protecting and showing our coastal wealth and the importance of environmental conservation in general.

With this particular initiative Alpha Bank clearly stated that caring for the environment is everyone’s personal responsibility and that events of this type reinforce our civic duty.

Alpha Bank volunteer day took place on May 23 rd at the Strovolos walk way in Nicosia, Phinikoudes Beach in Larnaca, Fig Tree Bay in Paralimni, the Olympion Beach in Limassol and Geroskipou Municipal Beach in Paphos.

As part of its cultural agenda Alpha Bank frequently organizes touring art exhibitions in Cyprus with works from the Group’s art collections and in close collaboration with local cultural centres. For 2009 the Bank launched the “ GREEK POSTERS” exhibition which is composed by approximately 50 posters designed by key Greek artists from the period 1880-1980. In Nicosia they were shown at the Famagusta Gate from Friday 24th April to May 10 th, and in Larnaca at the Municipal Gallery from May 14 th to the 26 th of June.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd has once again exhibited its support for culture and education by sponsoring a scholarship offered by the MBA programme of the University of Cyprus to full time students. The postgraduate scholarship in Business Management worth €10,250 was awarded in part to Mr. Stelios Economides and Ms. Marina Frangeskidou based on academic and financial criteria in a ceremony that took place on 19/12/08. Its purpose is to support upcoming members of the community and instruct the members of future business.

The corporate social responsibility conference is the first of its kind ever organized in Cyprus. Its aim is to sensitize corporations on environmental issues, promote optimum resource utilization, focus on energy saving and CO2 emissions thus reducing corporate impact.
Alpha Bank participated once again as a sponsor and as one of the speakers with a presentation on “Banking Social Responsibility and Green Loans”. The topic focused on the subject of Alpha Bank’s social corporate responsibility and its environmental policy including the schemes it offers, which contribute to the protection of the environment.

On Thursday 25th September Alpha Bank helped put together a fun morning of music and education, in collaboration with Energy 107.6 radio station and the University of Cyprus which took place on the University campus. Cypriot-Russian Festival
The Russian Embassy in Cyprus in cooperation with the Limassol Municipality and the Russian newspaper "Vestnik Kipra" organised for the third year running a Cypriot-Russian Festival in Limassol, between the 19-22 June 2008 under the theme "Cyprus-Russia: traditions of mutual trust". Alpha Bank participated in the event as one of the General Sponsors.

Exhibition - Property 2008
Alpha Bank participated in the 5th National Exhibition of Property and Land Development, Property 2008. The exhibition organised by IMH Creative Solutions Consulting, was held between the 9-11 of May 2008, at the Cyprus State Fair Exhibition Grounds in Nicosia.
Alpha Bank participated in the Exhibition with a large Stand. The expert staff of Alpha Bank were present offering the public information and printed material regarding all the Housing Schemes but also for all the other products and services it currently offers. In addition, Alpha Bank had special offers for the visitors only for the duration of the exhibition.

Alpha Bank celebrates 10 years in Cyprus
2008 is a milestone for Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd, as it celebrates a 10 year presence in the Cyprus market. Currently the Bank operates 34 branches nationwide and aims to increase them to 50 by 2010.

For the celebrations of the 10year presence in Cyprus, the following functions have been organised. On March 31st, his beatitude the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II performed the inauguration of the newly owned premises of the Head Office and the new Nicosia Main branch. The Chairman of the Alpha Bank Group, Mr.Yiannis Costopoulos, honoured the celebrations with his presence, as well as customers of the Bank and other distinguished guests.

With regards to the celebrations, a touring art exhibition of the Alpha Bank collection titled «GREEK ART FROM 1950 UNTIL TODAY» took place in the months March to June. The Art Exhibition comprised a selection of 65 paintings and prints made by the most important Greek artists of the post war era, as well as 11 of the most popular prints of Tilemachos Kanthou. The exhibition started in Nicosia at the Famagusta Gate, from the 31st of March until the 19th of April. The Chairman of the Alpha Bank Group, Mr Yiannis Costopoulos opened the exhibition. From the 7th until the 30th of May 2008 the exhibition was held at the Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis Foundation (Carob Mill), in Limassol and finally from the 6th – 28th of June at the Larnaca Municipality Gallery.

The Minister of Finance visits Alpha Bank

On March 19th 2008, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Charilaos Stavrakis visited the new privately owned Head Office Premises of Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd. The Minister visited the New Nicosia Main Branch and the Head Office where he commented on the pleasant working environment. Further, he congratulated Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd for its significant growth and the substantial contribution to the economy and the society overall.
 
The Black Light Theatre of Prague
The Black Light Theatre of Prague gave a number of performances in Cyprus with the magnificent play, “The Adventures of Faust”. The first performance was in Larnaca on the 3rd of March, followed by Limassol on the 5th and Paphos on the 7th of March. The unique presentation of the play combined darkness with light using special visual effects, giving it a distinct feature, suitable for the whole family. Alpha Bank participated in the event as one of the Sponsors.

Cyprus Red Cross
Alpha Bank sponsors the Cyprus Red Cross for the organisation of its annual Christmas Bazaar, in order to raise money for families that are in great need. This year the opening of the bazaar took place at Eleftheria Square, on Saturday 16th of December at 11.00 a.m. The event is under the auspices of the First Lady and President of the Cyprus Red Cross, Mrs Fotini Papadopoulou.

Cyprus Kidney Association
Once again Alpha Bank sponsors the events that take place during a week dedicated to people suffering from kidney diseases, organised by the Cyprus Kidney Association. In an effort to raise money for these people, a road fund collection was organised with the active participation of Alpha Bank staff.

Open Career Day
Alpha Bank participates in the annual open career day organized by the University of Cyprus to inform students about their career opportunities in Cyprus.

Real Estate & Construction Conference
For the third consecutive year Alpha Bank participated as one of the sponsors at the RICS Conference which was organized at Hilton Park Hotel in Nicosia on the 27th of October with great success. The theme of the conference was “Real Estate and Construction”.

Alpha Bank Euro Roadshow final events
The Euro awareness roadshoworganised by Alpha Bank concluded after one year of crossing Cyprus from one corner to the other. The last three events took placein Kiti, Aradippou and Pyrgos, on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of February respectively.Since March of 2006, 13 Euro awareness events have beenorganised in total and Alpha Bank has come in personal contact with over 65.000 Cypriot citizens.
