Alpha Express Banking, through Alpha SMS Banking enables you to:

  • Check the balance and transaction history of your accounts and cards
  • View current and past exchange rate fluctuations.
 
 
Technical Specifications
The minimum specifications required for the use of Alpha SMS Banking are:
  • Mobile phone equipped with SMS technology
  • Access to Alpha Web Banking for activating the SMS service.

After you activate the SMS service through the relevant page of the Alpha Express Banking site, and you receive the corresponding message on your mobile phone, you can send your messages to Alpha Bank at +357 99383333.

  • “B” determines the balance inquiry transaction
  • “A” determines the account number or the account alias name entered through the SMS activation page of Alpha Express Banking (i.e. A1, Alias of Account is 1 letter and 1 digit)
  • “P” determines the personal identification number registered through the SMS activation page of Alpha Express Banking (i.e. 0123,password is 4 digits)

Statement of last five (5) transactions

SAP

  • “S” determines the account statement transaction
  • “A” determines the account number or the account alias name entered through the SMS activation page of Alpha Express Banking (i.e. A1, Alias of Account is 1 letter and 1 digit)
  • “P” determines the personal identification number registered through the SMS activation page of Alpha Express Banking (i.e. 0123,password is 4 digits)

Exchange Rate against EUR

  • “R” determines the exchange rates transaction
  • “CCY” determines the 3-digit currency code (ISO) (i.e. USD)

SECURITY TIPS
The security measures set by the Bank with regard to Alpha SMS Banking refer to the:

  • Secrecy and unchanging nature of data
    These are secured through the definition process of the mobile phone that is used to communicate with the Bank.
  • User authenticity
    This is secured through the setting up of a secret personal identification number required for sending SMS as well as the registration by the user of the accounts that can be used in Alpha SMS Banking.
  • Mobile phone security
    This is secured through the systematic deletion of messages from the mobile phone’s memory and/or the SIM card.
